RemoteWorkUSA is operated by UX LABS S.R.L., a company registered in Romania.
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Because we are established in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to our processing, wherever in the world you are located. If you are a resident of California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, additional rights are described in the Notice for US residents section below.
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it.
We keep collection to a minimum. You do not need an account to use RemoteWorkUSA, and we do not ask job seekers for CVs, applications, or profile information.
We collect your first name and email address. Subscription is double opt-in: you must confirm your email address before we send you anything. Our newsletter is delivered by Kit (ConvertKit), and your details are stored on their platform.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing us.
Featured listings are bought through Stripe. During checkout we collect:
The work email address is used only to communicate with you about your listing. It is never displayed publicly on the site or shared with job seekers.
Card details are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Like most websites, we and our providers automatically collect technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies — see Cookies and advertising below.
Most listings on RemoteWorkUSA are collected from publicly available company career pages. These describe roles at companies, not individuals: we do not collect or publish recruiter names, personal email addresses, or other personal information about the people behind a listing. Where a listing we have collected does contain personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
More detail about how we collect listings, and how to request removal, is in our Terms of Use.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time — unsubscribe from emails, or change your cookie choices. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether our interest is overridden by your rights, and concluded it is not. You can object to this processing at any time.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share it with the providers below, each of which processes data on our behalf or as an independent controller for their own stated purposes.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, where necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or in connection with a sale or restructuring of the business.
We are based in Romania, but several of our providers are in the United States and Singapore. Where personal information is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, or on Standard Contractual Clauses where it is not.
We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:
Necessary — making the site work. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4, to understand which pages are used and where visitors come from.
Advertising — Google AdSense, which funds the site. AdSense may use cookies to show you advertising based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
In the EEA and UK, we ask for your consent before setting analytics or advertising cookies, using a Google-certified consent management platform. You can change your choices at any time.
In the United States, several state privacy laws treat the use of your data for personalised advertising as "sharing" or a "sale", even where no money changes hands. We do share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising through Google AdSense. You can opt out:
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as expected.
To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
Our supervisory authority is the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), dataprotection.ro. You may also complain to the authority where you live.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will not charge you for a reasonable request.
This section applies if you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, or another US state with a comparable consumer privacy law.
We collect these from you directly, and automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of Google AdSense for personalised advertising is considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law, and may be considered a "sale" under some other state laws. The categories involved are identifiers, internet activity, geolocation, and inferences.
You can opt out using the Your Privacy Choices link in our footer, or the methods listed under Cookies and advertising above.
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what we collect, to access it, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing, to opt out of targeted advertising, and to appeal a refusal. Contact [email protected] to exercise any of these.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. You will not receive a worse service or pay more.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes within the meaning of California's "Shine the Light" law.
RemoteWorkUSA is intended for adults seeking employment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use HTTPS across the site, and we rely on established providers — Webflow, Stripe, Kit, Cloudflare — for hosting, payments, and data storage. We do not store payment card details at any point.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy as the site changes or the law does. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will say so prominently on the site, and notify newsletter subscribers by email.
