Zapier

Zapier is an automation software company founded in 2011. The idea began during a Startup Weekend in Columbia, Missouri, where the founders built a tool for connecting web services. Zapier joined Y Combinator in 2012 and has operated as a fully distributed company since its early days.

Its core product lets users create “Zaps,” workflows in which an event in one app automatically triggers actions in others. The platform connects thousands of business tools and also includes Tables for storing data, Interfaces for creating forms and simple apps, and tools for AI agents and model connections. Zapier is generally used to automate repetitive work such as lead routing, notifications, data entry, reporting, and employee onboarding.
